Past, Present, and Future

Lots of people say that the only way to be truly happy is to live for right now; live in the moment the “right here, right now” sort of thing. The problem is that when you do that you can do things like ruin career potentials, love potentials, and basically set yourself up for failure.

However, if you are always stressing about the future, then life now is so stressful. You are afraid to commit to anything because you aren’t sure about how it will affect your future. Basically, you just sit in a corner curled up in a ball because of all of the anxiety and stress that you are putting on yourself.

And you don’t want to live in the past because then you are depressed and want to kill yourself. NOBODY wants to have that!!!

So what do you do?

Well, have you ever thought of learning from the past, living in the present, but still aware of what the future holds?

Learn from the past: use mistakes, different scenarios, and people you knew to learn how you should react, what you should or shouldn’t do, and how you should treat other people.

Live in the present: enjoy your friends and family. Take some time to relax and treat yourself to something nice every once in a while. Go to a party or two.

Think of the future: don’t worry about getting good grades but make sure that you are learning and understanding what you are being taught. Don’t take people for granted because they could be the people who determine how much your paycheck is. Think of the consequences of choices like drinking and driving, having sex outside of marriage, and smoking.

Learn from past mistakes, stop and smell the roses, and keep in mind the possibilities the future holds.
