How to be EPIC

How to be epic
Lots of people dream about doing something so epic that their name will be remembered for years after they die, possibly even centuries. Admit it. You are one of those people. I am too. I have dreams that seem unattainable that I really want to come true. We all want to do something epic and be remembered as an epic person.

Some epic people that we think about are Mozart, Beethoven, Abraham Lincoln, George Washington, Shakespeare, etc. We will remember these names for many more centuries to come. Why? Because they were epic people.
So the question is - how do we become epic people?

One way is to stumble upon something that we are somehow ridiculously good at and the planets align perfectly making us the best there has ever been. Next thing you know, generations later, people are still talking about you even though you are six feet under.
OR. You can find something that you are really passionate about, even if you are no good at it. THEN you practice until you can’t get it wrong. While you are practicing, you will want to immerse yourself in your passion. Meaning that if you want to be a talented musician, you listen to ridiculously talented musicians, if you want to be a fast runner, you learn everything you can about ridiculously fast runners and use those facts to help you improve. By doing this you are training your brain to think about what you have to do to be better at your passion.

How many Olympic athletes do you think just randomly decided they wanted to go to the Olympics and were randomly good enough to go to trials and win gold medals? OR do you think that they decided that they were really passionate about their sport and practiced until they couldn’t move anymore, day after day, week after week, and year after year?
Do you think Mozart and Beethoven pulled out a symphony the first time they touched a piano? Or did they practice their whole lives, from the time they were little, to become as good as they were?
If you want to be an epic person, you have to practice until you can’t get it wrong. You have to work as hard as you can, push yourselves to your limits, and push yourselves past your limits. You have to make your dreams come true.
